Barry Hurlbut is a History, and Bible teacher with over 20 years of experience. Mr Hurlbut holds several degrees; a B.A.in Bible, B.S. in Religious Education, M.Div. in New Testament and additional study towards a doctorate. Being passionate about helping students learn and understand the form and function of our government, Mr Hurlbut emphasizes that the U.S. Constitution as the basis for the form and proper function of government. Likewise, a proper understanding of the metanarrative of the Bible will help students to rightly understand the Bible as they apply it to life.

Barry is also passionate about coaching and mentoring and is involved in the Chattanooga running community where he leads BCA students in both Cross Country and Track & Field in interscholastic competition.

Barry is married to his college sweetheart,Denise, and is the father of three adult children.
