PERSONALIZED EDUCATION PLAN
Class sizes are intentionally small with a strong focus on individual attention for each student. Assessments are completed upon enrollment, allowing BCA to create customized educational plans to best meet the needs of each student. Customized educational plans provide teachers with insight on students who may have educational deficits, while also providing enrichment opportunities for students who are at or above grade level. There is a strong focus on meeting social and emotional needs, addressing past trauma, relationship building, and life skill-building.
COMPREHENSIVE TEAM APPROACH
Bethel Christian Academy includes therapy rooms so students can meet with counselors and social workers during the school day. Each student has a master’s-level social worker available as a resource for crisis intervention, referrals, skill building, and other needs that arise. BCA also partners with area service providers who further enhance our students’ experience.
At BCA, students, social workers, counselors, teachers, houseparents, and legal guardian/parent all work as a coordinated team toward the goals and objectives established for the student. Legal guardians/parents also receive updates and reports on a regular basis.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Bethel Christian Academy offers extracurricular activities, including intramurals and clubs, for students. Students can compete in cross-country in the fall and track and field in the spring. BCA also offers students an option to be a part of the Praise Team. All extracurricular activities may vary each semester depending upon student interests.
COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS
Bethel Christian Academy is designed to help students dream big and give them hope for a successful career after high school. All students are encouraged to look ahead and envision a life with a fulfilling career, not just a job to make ends meet. We combine individualized learning plans; therapy to cope with any trauma experienced prior to coming to Bethel; and life skills training to assist each student in making positive behavior choices.
Our high school students are given options to explore college and career options through job fairs, job shadowing, and college tours. College tour trips are researched and planned by our juniors and seniors and include trade schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges. We assist with college applications and financial aid as well as ACT test preparations and we also offer ASVAB test preparations for those considering a career in the military.
